Stars of the 1993 Jurassic Park, Laura Dern, Sam Neill, and Jeff Goldblum will come together to relive their characters in Jurassic World 3, the upcoming franchise installment. Dr. Ellie Sattler made the announcement in Hollywood today.
Jurassic World 3 will be directed by Colin Trevorrow who also co-wrote and directed Jurassic World and co-wrote Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Jurassic World 3 is written by Trevorrow and Emily Carmichael. It will be the sixth installment of the franchise by Universal Pictures starting with the adaption of the novel Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton, directed by Steven Spielberg.
The iconic Jurassic Park trio of Dern, Neill, and Goldblum will return as paleobotanist Dr. Ellie Sattler, paleontologist Dr. Alan Grant and mathematician Dr. Ian Malcolm, respectively in Jurassic World 3 after starring in the first films in the series.
The second trilogy Jurassic Park was anchored by Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt. In the movie, the tinkering with genetically engineered dinosaurs by mankind led to a disastrous outcome but no lessons were learned from the mistakes, apparently. Following the events of Fallen Kingdom, the movie in which Goldblum made a brief appearance, dinosaurs and humans live together. Will Sattler’s prediction come true?
Will woman inherit the Earth? That’s the moot question.
The Fallen Kingdom directed by J.A. Bayona has received mixed reviews. However, the movie did evoke interest globally as it earned around $1.3 billion worldwide. The franchise tally adds up to a whopping $5-billion box over a span of 25 years. Spielberg and Trevorrow are the executive producers of Jurassic World 3. The movie is being produced by Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley. It is set for a 2021 release.
